The Highlight Of Your Life

I recently went on the hunt for a new high street Highlighter. Does it pass the test? Read on to find out.

Product: Barry M Illuminating Highlighter Palette

Price: £6.49

What it Claims: In 3 highly pigmented, radiant, soft focus shades: Iced Pink, Frosty Cream and Gilded Bronze, are the perfect powders to take care of your highlighting needs. Easily blendable over makeup, apply to cheekbones, brow bones and cupids bow with a brush or your finger to master this stunning glow trend.

Im not normally a fan of cardboard packaging as it can get pretty grubby and doesn’t look quite as aesthetically pleasing to me as a casing but saying that, I really don’t mind this one as its a little bit more sturdy and heavy duty. Simple black background with rose gold, so, very much on point with this seasons favourite trend.

Nice big mirror on the inside, as always with cardboard packaged things, wiping the mirror leaves the surrounding packaging a bit marked but its expected. I’ve found I’ve actually been using this mirror instead of my own compact recently.

Here’s a closer look of the highlighter’s themselves. I was pleased to find the 3 pans were decently sized.

Formula:  Soft and buildable.

Overall Wear: When I first quickly swatched these in store I was very impressed. However when applied it is more subtle, so personally, I was slightly disappointed. I would recommend if you like a more punchy highlight to build it up a little for a more intense look. Overall, I do really like it, its great for highlighting along the brow bone, cupids bow and all those little detail areas, but it does need a little refresh every few hours. So far, this is the best budget highlighter I’ve came cross.

Rating: 4/5
