On Sunday I met for a long overdue catchup with a girlfriend, and in true style, we decided to get our glad rags on and hit up The Refinery at St Andrews square for a spot of lunch and a few cheeky cocktails.

I’m a sucker for a print dress, and so obviously this flamingo printed tea dress was right up my street. My new obsession right now is anything with a Peter Pan collar and with the heat we had this floaty little number was perfect for a spot of afternoon drinking and dining.

So, off we popped to The Refinery. I’ve walked past on many an occasion so it’s surprising I’ve never been in to try it yet.

We sat outside before being seated upstairs at a little table by the window. The view is phonominal, looking right over St Andrews Square and everyone relaxing in the summer sun. Natalia recommended we start of with a Bellini cocktail while we browsed over the menu and made our orders, I may have got a little over excited at having a flower in my drink.

We placed our order, choosing to both have the calamari to start, followed by the seafood linguine (which we spied someone having outside and both agreeing it looked amazing)

Our calamari appeared and couldn’t believe the size of the plate! Talk about a starter. I’m quite judgy when it comes to this particular dish, It’s either cooked where I thoroughly enjoy it or I’m incredibly dissapointed, but ours was cooked just the way I like it. Nice and crispy and not too greasy. Our seafood linguine was absolutely to die for. I’ll admit by the time I was half way through I was completely stuffed but there was no way in hell I was leaving any of it.

With dinner we decided to try another cocktail, I opted for a pornstar martini and Natalia got something of their summer cocktail list which arrived in a little bucket with a rubber duck!

Afterward we went back downstairs (and down the most amazing spiral staircase) and sat outside and had a bottle of wine… and a bottle of prosecco while we enjoyed the sun beaming down on us while we sat for a few hours catching up and enjoying the day.

Talk about a Sunday fun day! I can’t recommend The Refinery enough and have been raving on about it to anyone looking for a recomendation on somewhere nice to spend an afternoon for a bite to eat or a cheeky drink. There’s no doubt about it I’ll be back for my linguine fix!
